Is It?
No, it’s not doggies cutely
barking “Jingle Bells” filtered through your local
keyboard whiz.
It’s tribal music of and by the canine
tribe, a rollicking, rude and sometimes introspective celebration
of a dog’s world in their own words. Our lead storyteller, Rocky, weaves his tales
(no, not tails) over a barking, growling, howling, sneezing,
ear flapping, toenail tapping, toy squeezing, collar shaking
palette mixed with other dog-sized “instruments” (tennis
ball, bare foot in bathtub, rolling plastic bucket, rubber band
banjo, antique clock chime, chain collar slides, toy Casio SK-1
sampler) in a song structure that we humans can relate to. We
have to imagine the exact words (ever listen to “Louie
Louie?”) but the vibe is clear, giving us a small window
into the canine point of view. |
